There’s finally an e-cigarette designed for women. Vapor Couture, a stylish and slim electronic cigarette from the makers of V2 Cigs, is the “Virginia Slims” of e-cigs, and it’s not only stylish, it’s good. It cracks the top four of our e-cigarette reviews.
Everything about Vapor Couture is feminine. It comes in four fashion colors and designs: brushed platinum, rose gold, deep purple, and white with a repeating, stylish gold VC logo. The batteries and cartridges are made to match, but of course you can mix them if you so desire. The battery tip even has an elegant look, with a faceted crystal design in several different colors. We’ve never seen an e-cigarette that’s so slim and light to the touch, and we can completely understand how this product was designed for the female market.
The flavor cartridges are also aimed at women. There are six flavors currently available: Bombshell and Rodeo Drive are two tobacco-flavored options; the former is similar to a Marlboro, while the latter is a Turkish flavor, more like a Camel. Fresh Mint and Arctic Mint are the “menthol” options, and there’s are also tasty Passion Fruit and Strawberry Champagne flavors. Strengths available are full, light, ultra-light and no nicotine. All of them have a mild throat hit, but produce satisfying vapor clouds on the exhale. One thing in common with V2: the carts are all dated for freshness and are available in 40-packs and 20-packs as well as the more traditional five-packs.
We tested the deluxe starter kit. It came with two batteries (ours were white patterned and rose gold, both very attractive), as well as a USB and AC charger/adapter, and two sets of cartridges that matched the batteries. We thought the design and look was extremely attractive but still solid; even though this is a new product, it uses the V2 technology so we felt totally comfortable with the quality. One really nice addition to the kit was a stylish VC clutch purse, complete with mirror. The duration of the battery life and cartridge were good, lasting more than the equivalent of a pack of cigarettes – and without trying to sound sexist, it felt like the vapor hit was “made for a women’s taste,” light but satisfying. If you want to add a cool accessory, there’s a Vapor Couture charm bracelet that you can use to hold your cigarette, in addition to the more traditional lanyard.
The only real negative we found was that if you’re accustomed to using cartridges from one product with the batteries from another, you’ll be out of luck. Because of the Vapor Couture slimness, the cartridges and batteries won’t be interchangeable with other brands. But then again, if you’re looking for the feminine appeal of the VC product, you probably wouldn’t want to use other brands anyway.
We’re old-fashioned in a way, and always liked the idea of a long, slim cigarette for women. So we were delighted to see and test the Vapor Couture; it’s an attractive, solid product that will complement a woman’s look as she vapes.
